Kochi Business School hosted another inspiring edition of its Speaker Series for the 2024 MBA batch, featuring a thought-provoking session titled "The Self Digest – A Self Analytics Primer." The session was led by Mr. Sathish Kumar Menon.
During this session, Mr. Sathish Kumar Menon acquainted students with the concept of self-analytics, a novel means of self-awareness that combines self-reflection with structured analysis. He provided students with suggestions on how to get insights into their personality characteristics, emotional patterns, cognitive styles, and responder patterns by means of reflection and data.
Using accessible storytelling, relatable examples, and active learning activities, Mr. Menon encouraged students to take charge of their expanded journey of growth. He also communicated that a better understanding of the self included an analytical assessment, or the awareness of the self in a similar way that data is analyzed and transformed to improve something meaningful - in this case, the 'self'.
The session also opened up conversations around emotional intelligence, resilience, and mindful leadership. Students were particularly intrigued by Mr. Menon’s framework for tracking progress in self-awareness and decision-making, and how this can influence professional success.
The event was not only educational but also deeply reflective, aligning perfectly with KBS’s commitment to holistic development. The Speaker Series continues to bridge the gap between academia and the real world, bringing impactful voices like Mr. Menon’s into the learning ecosystem.
